Tomorrow I have to play live… it’s nothing, really: just one song (Hey Joe by Jimi Hendrix, if you want to know), but I’m scared like hell nevertheless. This of course isn’t helping when it comes to start studying… I think you won’t be surprised if I say that right now I can’t look at a book without getting bored and losing concentration in a few minutes. Besides, I didn’t even start working on my thesis, and the deadline is september/october. This may seem a lot of time, but it isn’t actually that much: I’ll have exams in the meantime, and I wish I can have at least 2 weeks of vacation to cool down and relax a little.
Well, now I better go back to Hendr… uh no, I mean back to studying. Yes. That’s what I mean. Maybe.

Sometimes you wake up, look out of the window, and find that the weather reflects how you feel. Or maybe it’s just the other way round: and your feelings are influenced by the weather.
It’s a cloudy, grey day, outside the window.

I’m tired but happy, today. Lessons in the afternoon were so boring I fell asleep for ~20 minutes… Besides, after weeks of cold is hot all of a sudden. Ok, enough with the daily whining ^_^
This morning I presented, along with two fellow (almost)engineer, a project we realized for the DataBases course. We worked hard on this project, and discussed a lot about it among us, so it was a relief to know that now it’s over, and a satisfaction because our work was well rewarded ;).
I’m going to put this project online on this site once the votes are registered (this *should* happen near July). Don’t consider this a promise, though: you know I’m a little lazy when it comes to put new sections of the site online ;P

Here we are for another episode of “the music albums I always forget to talk about” ;)
I loved this album since the first time I listened to it (in mp3 format) and I bought it as soon as I could: it’s really something that should be in your cds collection, if you like this genre. The name of this album, you ask? I’m talking about Ark‘s Burn the Sun. I’m listening to it right now, and I just found out is kinda hard to describe it… technical (not techno!) music with a soul maybe? ;P What I mean is, often technical music is difficult to play (and to listen to… more on this topic in a minute ;)) and shows the great musical skills of the performers (think about Dream Theater, just to have an idea on what I’m talking about), but it’s a little heartless, and doesn’t convey emotions. This is a technical album (no doubt about it) but full of emotions, IMHO. You’ll definitely have to listen to it to understand what I mean ;) Give it a try, even if you aren’t into metal or prog, and you may be surprised.
Now on a related topic: as I listen to it I’m of course compelled to follow the drums (can’t help it :P) and it’s perfectly clear that I couldn’t play a single of these songs right now. And I’m not likely to manage it in a few years either. Maybe I won’t be able to play something like this in my whole life… I’m going to be an engineer, not a drummer, after all, and the time for training is always scarce. That’s kind of sad if you think about it…
It’s time to awaken – It’s waking hour
A new day’s breaking – The future’s now
It’s here and there it’s gone

Direi proprio di NO.
Sono incazzato, deluso, rassegnato, e tra queste e altre faccende direi che la giornata non avrebbe potuto iniziare peggio…
